What you need to know:

Practice Details

  • Seeking a BE/BC Interventional Cardiologist for Gainesville, Florida facility.
  • The have 2 NPs in the hospital who do consults. 
  • Consultative practice – Hospitalists admit and discharge.
  • Start at 8:30 AM and finish when they finish but they are usually on the way home by 5:30 or 6:00 PM
  • See 25 patients a day.
  • Opportunity to perform 125-150 Coronary interventions/year
  • If the candidate does peripheral interventions, opportunity to perform an additional 75-100 procedures. Peripheral not required.
  • No opportunity for Structural
  • All physicians share call equally and they end up being on call about 1 in every 6 weekends and one night every 2 weeks – no matter what their subspecialty. 
  • Research Opportunity, if desired – Vibrant research foundation with 16 active studies
  • Appointment with University of Central Florida
  • Ability to read studies or view records at home (MEDSTREAMING)
  • EMR (Greenway Intergy)
  • MA, scribe, 2 full-time NPs (planning to hire additional Advanced Practitioners)
  • NPs see follow-up patients; the physician always sees a new patient

Compensation Details

  • Salary + bonus during the first 3 years of employment
  • Income potential is quite high – above the 90th percentile is realistic
  • Health, dental, vision, life insurance.
  • 20 days’ vacation; 8 days’ CME with $8,000 CME reimbursement.
  • $10K relocation.
  • Up to $50K loan for a house.
  • 401K, Pension – eligible after 1 year and max contribution every year.
